Editorial Policy
EmojiSelector content is prepared based on Unicode standards and digital culture research.
Our Content Standards
- All emoji meanings are compiled from official Unicode sources and current digital usage data.
- Content is regularly updated and verified for accuracy.
- Content is produced with consideration for cultural context and regional differences.
- Sponsored content is clearly marked; editorial independence is maintained.
Accuracy & Sourcing
We keep two kinds of information clearly separate. Technical facts (codepoint, Unicode version, official name, year added) come straight from Unicode Consortium and CLDR data and are verifiable. Meaning and usage commentary is our editorial reading of publicly visible platform usage — it is not survey or measurement data, and we do not present it as such.
We do not publish percentages or statistics from research we have not done. If we cannot measure a claim, we write it as an observation rather than a measurement.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools when drafting and translating; every published text goes through editorial review and technical claims are checked against Unicode sources. Pages are not generated automatically at request time.
Correction Policy
Report errors to [email protected] with a link to the page. Verified errors are corrected and the page's "last updated" date is changed; corrections that change meaning are also noted within the article.
Advertising & Independence
The site may be supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Ads are visually separated from editorial content, and no advertiser influences what an emoji means or what an article says. If we ever publish sponsored content, it is clearly labelled.
